is now a spiked thing, as summer comes to a close.
What once was beautiful and sweet;
it now appears life did defeat.
And caused all to withdraw;
when many sharp points, they saw.
Few have seen the tear so slight;
at the beginning of mornings first light,
that caresses the long barren stem;
and quickly disappears out of sight of them.
Who cares for the beauty within;
where does a friendship begin?
But warmed by love and the Son's light;
a little green appears, ever so slight.
A change mighty you'll see;
as once again a rose it'll be!

I really liked that poem. I think that it is cool that you entered it in a contest and that it got put in a book for other people to enjoy.
