Upon My Knees
This night upon my knees I pray,
Dear Father, please hear what I say.
A blessing I stand in need of
and hope I receive of your love.
Please give me the desires of my heart,
and other blessings of which you would impart.
As I got upon my bed to lay,
I felt a sadness which seemed to say.
"I have many blessings for you to claim
but humbly call upon my name."
With heavy heart upon the floor I kneel,
Dear Father, of thy Spirit I need to feel.
Before upon my bed I lay,
help me to hear what you would say.
May I become humble like thy son,
Thy Beloved and only Begotten One.
