Plight of the Bumble Bee part 2

This is part 2 of my Plight of the Bumble Bee. My wife and I were helping our neighbor Peggy pick raspberries today. I was telling Peggy about my observation and she was a little surprised. When I told her I hadn't seen a Bumble Bee for seven years or longer, she stopped and thought then said "I believe I saw one just the other day". I got excited and said "really?"

Our neighbor stated she had been picking raspberries in the very patch we were in and that a bee buzzed her and she was sure it had been a Bumble Bee. I told her that I was surprised but happy to hear that the Bumble Bee wasn't completely gone from this part of Idaho.

We talked a few minutes more about the Bumble Bee and bees in general and then the conversation drifted to another topic. All of a sudden, Peggy pointed and said "look", and guess what she was pointing at? If you guessed a Bumble Bee you are right. I couldn't believe my eyes. I was looking at a Bumble Bee. I would have wiped  my eyes like they do in the movies but didn't want to get berry juice in my eyes. However my wife also saw the Bumble Bee so we both can say we have seen a Bumble Bee very recently.

What a beautiful sight it was seeing a Bumble Bee after seven + years.Natural Beekeeping: Organic Approaches to Modern Apiculture.

As I have said in the past I enjoy watching bees and appreciate the work they do. If you have an interest in bees you can find information on beekeeping at: www.beekeepbees.earthwormmagicinfo.com. This is one of my sites.
