The Road Home

Confused, lost and far from home,
many strange places did I roam.

Large cities shiny and bright,
but my home was not in sight.

Small towns with more open space,
could this be my life place?

Right or left which way to turn?
From my choices I must learn.

Now in my valley of despair,
I need to know how to repair.

The damage done by a wayward son,
who only thought to have some fun.

What did my Mother and Father say?
When you are lost and alone, to whom should you pray?

Oh! Heavenly Father, many strange places I did roam,
how might I know which way is home?

My son! Don't you see?
The road paved with my son's blood leads to me.
