Burt's Bees - Beeswax Lip Balm Tube, .15 oz sticks A few days ago I watched as the bees buzzed around the flowers in my yard. They worked tirelessly collecting nectar and pollen.

Recently, I have seen articles that talked about the decline of the bee population in the United States.The articles indicated that there has been about a 35% decline in the last five years or so. If this decline continues then the crops that depend on bees will also suffer and that will reduce the amount fruits and vegetables available to the consumer and prices will go up. Also the beautiful gardens would suffer.

One time while I was hiking, I came across a bee tree in the woods. I sat down ten feet from the tree in the flight path of the bees coming to and going from the hive. At first a couple of bees buzzed me but after a few seconds they ignored me and I watched the activity at the hive for nearly an hour. It was a fun experience.

The world would certainly be less beautiful without the bees.
