This a poem I wrote for my daughter several years ago, when she was questioning her self-worth. Like many, she was questioning her worth, value and beauty. She was and is a very beautiful person.
To look in the mirror is hard for me,
because of the reflection that I see.
A person not so pretty I think,
for the artist used to much ink.
And added lines that should not be,
so imperfections here and there I see.
I long to find a beauty there,
one that will cause all to stare.
Again, into the mirror I look to see,
and find another standing by me.
He points and I hear him say,
"I helped to mold this clay.
Yours is the image of God above,
of a Heavenly Being who radiates pure love.
Someday at this person you'll stare,
and see a beauty molded with loving care."
Again I look at this reflection of me,
and hope to glimpse what the Lord can see.

I remember when you wrote this poem. Jill was going through a hard time. She made it, though, and is a very beautiful, talented and strong person today!
It is one of my favorite poems. Jill was struggling at the time. I do think that most if not all of us go through times when we question ourselves.
Thanks for the comment and please share with your friends.
Dad,
You are such a strength to all of us. A solid rock for us to stand on. God truly does speak to us through the patriarchs of our lives. You have such a sweet spirit that touches many hearts. I love you very much.
Jenny
Thanks, Jenny. I appreciate that. Jill's poem has been one of my favorite poems. It so expresses to me how much we see and how Heavenly Father sees. I know he is very proud of you and I know your Father is also. Love, Dad
Jenny, if you send me your email address I will send a link so that you can post on here also.
Every women is beautiful and every man is handsome because that is how Heavenly Father sees us and that is what counts.
Love Sarah
There are times when we don't see the beauty in ourselves. We all go through such times.
