August Sunset

Last night as I was sitting at the computer, I looked out the south window and saw a very beautiful sunset. I told my wife and daughter that they should look at the sunset and see how beautiful it was.

It was a balmy August evening with wispy clouds floating in the sky. Some of the clouds looked like pinkish golden feathers that had fallen from a great bird.

The rays of the sun caught each cloud and painted it a different color. Using the same colors but each was different in how those colors were used. It amazes me that the colors blended differently within each cloud.

I sat for a few moments looking out at the sunset and felt the renewing that comes when you feel as much as you see the beauty of something like a sunset.

A few minutes later I went to change the water out front and the sun had sunk lower in the western sky. The colors were even more pronounced and the gold and pinks a brighter hue. I called again to my wife and daughter and they came out and admired the beauty that God had provided for us.

The clouds had taken on a darker gray color mixed with the pink and gold and was breath taking. I wondered how many people saw what I was seeing.

I really had needed to see the beauty of that sunset last night and I appreciated the Lord sending it to me. I was down and the beauty picked me up.
